Introduction

The X-Tre Power Box module is an advanced Timing Retard Eliminator which improves throttle response, low-end torque and also bypasses the speed limiter on all 1000cc+ Suzuki bikes. Designed for Japanese motorcycles with an OEM in-dash gear position indicator.

Our X-Tre Power Box won’t disable the factory gear indicator thanks to the built in microchip encoding/decoding the communication link between the ECM and the dashboard in real time. This feature is unique, as other TRE units on the market disable the factory gear position indicator.

About the X-Tre Power Box

Selectable Maps
Just like our GIpro/ATRE, the X-TRE comes with user selectable gear maps, offering the same benefit and flexibility. But now, there is no requirement to have an external gear indicator when the bike already has one. Of course, we understand many riders will still want the GIpro unit for the large bright LED display – and for bikes without an OEM dash gear indicator, the GIpro/ATRE is still the best option available today.

No Set-up Needed
After installation, the unit is fully functional, no need to setup. The default gear mapping is the 4th which can be changed easily to 5th or 6th to suit your needs.

Smart Tech
Automatically switches off in Neutral for smooth idle operation; 3 user selectable gear maps – buttonless design; Status LED for troubleshooting; Automatic data link configuration to support all Suzuki models; Low power consumption with Auto Stand-by.

Simple Installation
The tiny box installs in under 25 minutes on most bikes, connecting through OEM plugs (only one wire would need to be cut during installation – we bundle high quality gel-sealed quick connects to make quick, simple, and reliable connections without the need for soldering).

Current Used Map Review
Another feature is the ability to simply review the gear map in use. The unit mounts under the fuel tank, out of sight, but the innovative buttonless design makes it possible to review and select maps while sitting on the bike. X-TRE works well with (or without) other electronic devices like a Power Commander or a SpeedoHealer, etc.

Best Price on the Market
You won’t find any better NOR a lower cost alternative on the market! Grab a bargain, grab those ponies!

Huge Power Gains
The X-TRE improves performance in large doses. Gains can be as huge as 15bhp as we’ve seen it on the likes as Suzuki B-Kings and Hayabusas. Other effects as improved throttle response and better acceleration making your bike work like a charm – especially in the lower gears. The unit automatically turns off the mapping in Neutral for smooth idle operation.

Will both the X-TRE and SpeedoHealer work together?
Sure, both units will work perfectly.

I have a DynoJet Power Commander III installed, is there any reason to get an X-TRE?
YES! The benefits are:
› The Power Commander can only re-map ONE ECM gear map. The X-TRE will complement the Power Commander because it locks the ECM map in the unrestricted map, no matter which gear is selected.
› The Power Commander can adjust the FUEL map only, while the X-TRE disables the timing retarder used in lower gears.
› X-TRE will disable the speed limiter on 1000cc+ Suzuki bikes while the Power Commander will not.

Do I have to remap the PCIII after installing the X-TRE?
No. The PCIII was mapped in 4th gear, where X-TRE has no effect.

I have an ignition advancer module, can I still use an X-TRE?
YES! X-TRE does not actually change the ignition timing, only forces the ECM to use the best gear map in all gears. This is why X-TRE works well with any ignition advancer and/or fuel injection module.

Should I do anything with the unit after replacing/disconnecting the battery?
No.

What is ‘buttonless design’?
Since the unit is mounted under the fuel tank, where it’s difficult to reach, we have designed the control interface such a way that reviewing and changing TRE mode is possible while sitting on the bike. You need to follow a simple sequence and operate the shift lever, ignition key and RUN switch. The method works with quick shifters too.
There is visual confirmation of the selected mode through the in-dash gear indicator.

Also, there is a status LED on the X-TRE box which can be really useful to determine which wire has poor contact in case of problems.

Our products are supplied with install instructions applicable to all bikes listed for that specific part number. However, to help our customers we are offering Supplementary manuals for some of the popular bikes. If you do not see a manual for your bike, check out one for a similar model and you get the idea what is involved. Most documents are applicable to a wider range of bike models/years than shown here.
Important: The supplied instructions should always be followed carefully.

WOW, sums it up for me. I got a zx6r running a full micron race exhaust, K&N, Power Commander with custom map and was getting 121.8 bhp on my local dyno. After fitting your XTRE I could feel the difference straight away, the bike felt stronger, the best way I could describe it it was like I was running one tooth down on the front sprocket. Took it for another dyno. Well the guy on the dyno asked me to run through what I had done to it after they run it coz it made 132.6 bhp. I did think maybe their dyno was a bit generous, so hung around to see what other bikes where running, a gsxr 750 got 136 bhp he had a race fit end can and power commander, so it seemed the dyno was reading ok. Thanks very much for a nice bit of kit.

Just wanted to add that the bike is much smoother and the popping and occasional back fire is for the most part gone! Very nice! Runs great! – Just got back from another ride and WOW!! Really wakes this bike up! It’s either spinning the rear wheel or raising the front!! Lots of fun!
Dan, Kawasaki ZX-10R ('08)
Everything works and the bike feels totally different. Very nice product indeed and excellent support too!
Rob, Kawasaki ZX-10R ('08)
I just installed the X-TRE, the installation instructions make it easy to install and it works just as it says! We had it fitted to the 08’ZX6 as well… Excellent Product!
Gary, Kawasaki ZX-10R ('08)
It worked a treat – better low down responses and the 4k glitch that I have been trying to get rid of with DynoJet maps etc has now gone.. excellent! I have power commander III with K&N filter and Micron exhaust – and now the XTRE. It is the Xtre that solved the 4k problem really (I use it it mode 4). The Xtre also makes very slow speed manoeuvring so much better because the engine response is more predictable and precise.
Nick S., Suzuki GSX650F
The best 90 euro I spent on the bike! Tremendous improvement! Very smooth, it really wakes the bike up in first, second and third! Easy installation, just 15 minutes.
John T., Suzuki GSX-R1000 ('05)
I did the track day yesterday and the bike is very noticeably faster particularly out of the medium speed chicanes, so much so that I now find that I have to brake earlier for corners, because at the end of the short straights I am going a lot faster.
Michael, Suzuki GSX-R1000 ('05)
Just some feedback on the speadohealers and XTRE, WOW! Impressive performance gain on the GSXR – still dont understand what you guys did to have such gain. And our speedo’s are reading 100% accurate for the first time ever. Thanks for the great products!
Anton K., Suzuki GSX-R1000 ('07)
After the cog change I was hoping for more from the bike. I did some research and I figured if it works as well as the speedo healer why not. Well wow, across the board, wow! The lower throttle response was more of what I expected the bike from new, the midrange “seat of the pants” feels stronger, the bike is much “snappier”. If I’d not have fitted it, I wouldn’t have believed the change I’m trying to express now :)
